Patti will be speaking, along with theatrical director Justin Blake, at the Palm Springs Book Festival this Sunday, May 4th, at 4:30pm, on the Writers Stage.

Their topic is Brilliant Author Interview Techniques. What makes a great interview? What's going to make the audience want to buy your book? Justin and Patti will share techniques for creating engaging conversations in media interviews.

The Palm Springs Book Festival is opened from 10am-6pm, on the grounds of Palm Springs High School.

Free to the Public.

It's a "Dirty Job", But Somebody has to do it!

PALM SPRINGS, CA - Mark your calendars and watch as the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is featured on one of Discovery Channel's most popular shows "Dirty Jobs". Airing on May 5th at 9pm host Mike Rowe gets a bird's eye view of Palm Springs as he assists the Tramway's maintenance crew change a sheave and replaces a wind sock.

The Mount San Jacinto State Park Closed, but Palm Springs Aerial Tramway still operating

PALM SPRINGS, CA - May 1, 2008 - The Mount San Jacinto State Park is currently closed due to extreme fire danger. The wilderness area is closed to extended hiking and overnight camping until further notice. The Desert View Trail, Nature Trail and Long Valley areas are open.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will continue to operate normally. The first Tram up Monday through Friday is 10am; Saturday and Sunday 8am, last Tram up 8pm and the last Tram down 9:45pm. Visitors to the Tramway's Mountain Station can still enjoy lunch or dinner at Peaks fine dining restaurant or Pines Cafe, a casual dining restaurant. Also open to visitors is a gift shop, natural history museum, a theater showing two documentary movies, a cocktail lounge and spectacular views.

Take Your Dog To The Movies!

Paws & Hearts, a nonprofit therapy dog organization, is holding a "Take your dog to the movies" even Wednesday April 30th at 6:30 pm at Cinemas Palme d'Or, 72-840 Highway 111.

Friendly dogs on short, non-retractable leashes are invited to sit on laps or on the floor next to their handlers during the screening of Disney's "101 Dalmatians," featuring Glenn Close.

Manny the Movie Guy from KMIR 6 will be on hand to kick off the event and introduce the movie....
