Benefit for Desert Aids Project in Palm Springs, California — Jungle Red, Dahling

Honored with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Fame for their humanitarian prowess, the drag troupe Les Dames du Soleil wows audiences for another good cause, Desert Aids Project in Palm Springs, California, on Mother's Day, May 11.

"Jungle Red, Dahling," a reference and shade of nail polish from the Joan Crawford movie "The Women," is also the show title.

The "ladies" dazzle crowds with their elaborate costumes, choreography and fabulous lip-synching.

And remember, it's Lay-Dom Due So-lay.

Cocktails served at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m.

UFO Cloud Sighting in La Quinta, California

Did anybody else see it? There were a few of the clouds hovering over the La Quinta, California, area Wednesday night that looked like UFOs.

I snapped a shot from my cell phone while at the stoplight at Washington St. and 50th Ave. in La Quinta, and sent it to my mother in New York all before the signal turned green, (isn't technology something?).

The cloud intrigued me, so I did a little research.
They are lenticular clouds, also known as altocumulus. Apparently we get them regularly here in the desert because of the mountains.

Various Web sites claim the clouds are "widely known" to be UFOs in disguise. Whatever you believe,...

The event touted as California’s Country Music Festival returns to the Coachella Valley on May 2-4 for its second year at the Empire Polo Club grounds in Indio.

Stagecoach added a third day, showcasing seasoned and recently reunited musicians and even an American Idol winner. The festival offers all things country. The music’s diversity and increasing popularity have widened the audience and made Stagecoach a hit.
