RANCHO LAS PALMAS INTRODUCES A CHILDREN'S CLASSIC WITH GROWN UP APPEAL

New Cupcake Menu at bluEmber Caters to Sophisticated Palates

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA - The cupcake may be a classic American children's treat, but at Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa's bluEmber restaurant cupcakes are anything but child-like. bluEmber's popular new "cupcake menu" is designed to appeal to the more sophisticated palate of its grown-up clientele. Boasting flavors such as Grand Marnier and spiced rum and ingredients like desert date, coconut mouse and rich dark chocolate, the cupcakes are both refined and playful.

"Cupcakes are experiencing a renewal in popularity," says Leanne Kamekona, executive chef. "Guests find them appealing because they are portioned perfectly for an individual and allow them to enjoy something sweet with much less guilt."

Individually presented on playfully decorated plates, guests can pick just one or, for those who can't decide, enjoy a sampler of three. The cupcakes can also be packaged to go for those who want to take the treats to share with family and friends later. Cupcakes are $8 each or $19 for three. The menu changes seasonally and currently includes:

Romantic Red Velvet: Decadently moist red velvet cake filled and topped with cream cheese icing.

bluEmber Signature: Blue velvet cake filled with cream cheese and topped with an ember colored icing.

Desert Date: A local favorite that features Coachella Valley Date and buttermilk cake finished with a granola fondant.

Coco Las Palmas: Spiced rum and vanilla infused cake filled with coconut mousse, garnished with toasted coconut.

Classic Confetti: Bring out the kid in you with confetti cake filled with vanilla mousse and a gummi bear surprise all topped with confetti sprinkles.

Macadamia Nut Banana Cream: Banana nut cake filled with a banana mousse and topped with fresh whipped cream.

Tiramisu: Chocolate cake filled with Grand Marnier infused mascarpone cheese and topped with lady fingers and chocolate shavings.
